Burning In The Sand
Halt upon sandstone and churned basalt, Old folk trailed cobble, rearing their heads to see
a resemblance of heresy, that
followed in my return to our war-torn home.
Our enemy stands prideful, erect
in delicate marble and clear-cut stone.
His mark stands strong, illustrating all the flaws of he whom
I once met. My forefather,
who paved a way for blood and bone.
Static,
perfect to throw sticks and stones at.
Reminiscent of the bricks and bones, that
swallowed our land a long time ago.
Planted in dusk with dawn coating my face,
They only stare at me. "A look of disgrace!"
I tread far away, who am I to turn back?
And so my feet lay bare, burning in the sand.
Shooting Star
Your prayers echoed through my chamber of filth, of shame; reminiscent of wonders I once had.
A time where I thought I could have solved your situation.
And now I've descended to the mortal plane.
I remodeled society,
ended multitudes of pain.
Reconstructed your reality,
Ended wars and crimes, no more blood to stain.
A fairer world, no need to work, no more money to rake in.
You begged me; 'O, please! This transformation you must snuff!'
Was it never worth what had to be taken?
Do you think that your new wishes are enough?
Prior, you prayed. For me to help, to rearrange.
But now that it's done, you're crying for change.
I eliminated your man-made laws and
gifted humanity a shining star.
It will never leave your side, it will never be afar.
TUMULT
Something vastly new, yet truly antique, upturned at the peak of a half-moon,
Men were wallowing, (swallowing guilt!) in fear of the pendulum's swing.
An awakening surged which bled men's ears;
As new life manifested from their true fears.
Something swirled within my heart,
Pin-prick fingers tore our works apart.
A spectacle before us.
It descended, to burn us,
To churn us (Boiling in the sinner's furnace!)
Those who remained, heightened their gaze
to be-witness evil so rapidly grown,
It threw us into a haze (a blaze of blood!)
Which I had never known.
